Fatima Sana Shaikh, who has often been linked with her Dangal and Thugs of Hindostan co-star Aamir Khan, opened up about such rumours in a recent interview.
Fatima Sana Shaikh, who shared screen space with Aamir Khan in Dangal (2016) and this year’s Thugs of Hindostan, has often been linked with the Bollywood superstar. Blame it on their several public outings together or Aamir going out of his way to get Fatima cast in Thugs of Hindostan, it’s been long since the industry started talking about the duo’s equation in hushed tones.
When Fatima, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, was asked about the rumours of link-up with Aamir, she said, “It’s very weird. My mother keeps on watching TV and the other day she showed me ‘Your photo has come’ and I was like ‘Read the headline to know what’s written.’ I used to get disturbed and I felt like I should explain myself.”
“If someone accuses you of something, the first instinct is to come out and tell, ‘Listen, why do you think it is like this?’ If you are an aggressive person, you will attack. If you are a submissive person, even then you will talk about it. But, now, I do not feel the need to explain because I feel no matter what you do, people will talk about you. Logon ka kaam hai bolna woh bolenge,” the actress added. (Fatima Sana Shaikh shares an emotional post for Aamir Khan and team Dangal as the film clocks in two years)
Dangal, that saw Fatima in the role of wrestler Geeta Kumari, became a colossal hit at the box-office going on to earn over Rs 387 crore in its lifetime. Thugs of Hindostan, on the other hand, turned out to be a box-office dud. In its lifetime, the film earned over Rs 151 crore.
